BODIOU

STANLEY VINCENT BODIOU passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the age of 72 years.

Stan is survived by his son Ian (Melodie), sisters Valerie, Sandra and Elaine (Brent); grandchildren Ainsley, Emily and Aidan; nephews Randall (Carla), Duane and nieces Paula (Tonia) and Wanda (Calvin); as well as great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was predeceased by his son Stanley Neil, his parents Yves and Edith, nephew Wayne and great-niece Brandi-Lee.

Stan was born on August 15, 1944 in England. He travelled to Canada by ship at age 1 with Mom and sister Valerie eventually moving to Cardston and later to Lethbridge where he resided until his passing.

Stan loved to ski and his favourite hills were at Castle Mountain Resort near Pincher Creek. He was a founding member and instructor of the Canadian Association of Disabled Skiing – Alberta (CADS Alberta) and was very proud of all his students. He was a statistician and proud supporter for the Lethbridge Hurricanes and previous Lethbridge hockey teams for over 30 years and rarely missed a game.

Stan was a good father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was a kind generous giving man, liked by all who knew him and he knew and cared about a lot of people. He was always willing to lend a hand at whatever was asked of him be it cattle branding, fixing fences or leaky faucets and everything in between.

Stan retired at age 65 from Lafarge Concrete after 41 years of working as block plant supervisor.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 15 (7:00 – 10:00 p.m.) at his favorite hangout Boss Hogs Country Saloon, 1210 – 1 Avenue South, Lethbridge (18 plus years of age). The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to CADS Alberta – Lethbridge (CanadaHelps.org)
