ANDERSON

DOREEN VIVIAN LARSON ANDERSON, beloved wife of Reid C. Anderson, passed away in Lethbridge, Alberta July 18, 2017 at the age of 90 years. She was born a sheep-rancher’s daughter, in Medicine Hat, Alberta December 16, 1926. Her childhood years were spent happily with six sisters and one brother. Doreen and Reid met in Calgary while Reid was serving in the RCAF. After their marriage July 26, 1946, they started their life together in the New Dayton area where they farmed until their retirement in 2002. She loved cooking, cleaning, gardening, sewing, good music, friends and family. She served others and the Lord faithfully in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a great love for the Lord and faith in his promises to us, fasting and praying, often weekly, throughout her life. She loved to study the scriptures daily. Her home was always beautifully decorated and spotless, a welcome haven for all who stopped in. She accepted and loved everyone without reservation. In winter months, Doreen and Reid loved their ‘Snowbird’ trips south into California. She was an avid writer, keeping a daily journal most of her adult life and composing many delightful poems. In her later years, she painstakingly compiled a history of her life for her family to enjoy. She was predeceased by her parents, three sisters, two brothers, her son Wayne, a grandson, a great- grandson and a great-great granddaughter. She is survived by her sweetheart Reid, her husband of nearly 71 years, her children: Linda (Grant) Fyfe, Shirley (Pat) Asplund, Keith (Sue) Anderson, Diane (Ken) Linteris, Alan (Janice) Anderson, a daughter-in-law Elaine Anderson Cooper, 34 grandchildren, 94 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and three sisters. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday July 22, 2017 at 1.00 p.m. at the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, 10th Avenue Chapel, 1912 10 Ave S, Lethbridge.
