Burns, Kristina (Nina) Amber May 4, 1987 – Calgary, Alberta July 28, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Nina, beloved partner and mother of Christopher Knowler and their daughter Kylie, of Calgary, AB, passed away on July 28, 2017 at the age of 30 years. Nina’s love and life focused on Chris and Kylie and she was the ultimate partner, mother, daughter and sister. Nina was affectionate, considerate, direct, compassionate and witty; a beautiful and giving Spirit. Nina loved doing crafts and had a passion for painting. She was very much loved and cherished by all and always will be. Besides Chris and Kylie, Nina is survived by her dad Jeff Burns; mom Lori (nee Valer) Burns and her partner Donnie Cochrane; brother Brad (Ashley) Parkins; nieces Ava and Ella; grandparents Andy and Wilma Valer of Lethbridge, AB and Ester Burns of Pilot Mound, MB; as well as Auntie Cindy (Darrel) Koskewich; Chris’s relatives and many uncles, aunties and cousins. Nina was predeceased by her Grandpa Jim Burns. A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street S.E.) on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
