MAERZ

It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Tyler Maerz announces his sudden death on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the age of 27. Those left to mourn are his beautiful daughter, Charlie Singh; Mom Linda (Ben) Schmold; Dad Tim (Sonya) Maerz; two sisters Ashley (Dan) DeBoer and Brittany (Chandler Braun) Maerz; step-siblings Ashley (Cox) Gosselin and Rebecca (Cox) Chapman, Kim Riley (Schmold) & Derek Schmold, and Max Brierley; Grandparents Luke (Siny) Van Paassen, Helen Bouw, Ben Sr. & Mary Schmold, Henry & Linda Antkowiak; Nieces & Nephews Brady, Logan & Addison DeBoer, Sawyer & Lincoln Braun, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Tyler was predeceased by his Grandparents John & Grace Pauls; step-dad Shane Cox; and uncle Neil Van Paassen. Tyler was born in Taber, AB on February 16, 1990. The family later moved to Coaldale and he attended St. Joseph’s and R.I. Baker and graduated from Kate Andrews High School. Tyler was very active in sports and excelled in all he participated in. After graduation, Tyler started his apprenticeship at Bill’s Electric, then spent 6 years with Deltec before recently taking employment with Neu-Lite Electric. For the past three seasons, Tyler enjoyed playing softball and would quite often have his little Charlie “Brown” along to cheer him on. Tyler had a very caring, fun-loving personality and made friends easily. To some of his friends, he was known as “Wolfman”, for good reason. His visits, laughter, and raucous sense of humour will be greatly missed by all, especially the phone calls starting with “What’s up” and that beer placed in your hand with “Tell me a story” to follow. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, August 28, 2017 at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703 13 St. N., Pastor Rodger Halvorsen, officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to a trust fund set up for Charlie at the Bank of Nova Scotia #51359-0297429
