CHIEF MOON
Posted: September 25th, 2017It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our dear beloved FRANCES CORRINE “TRIXIE” CHIEF MOON “Iipoohyakii – Talks A Lot”, born May 8 1969 at the Blood Indian Hospital Cardston AB., on September 16, 2017 in Lethbridge AB.
Trixie grew up in the Lavern area and Lethbridge. She attended school in Lavern, Cardston, Lethbridge and at the Lethbridge Community College. She excelled in softball and tetherball and had a passion for horseback riding in her early years. She loved to read, listen to music and dance. She was known for her baking and cooking delicious meals for everyone and loved to travel, she lived in Vancouver B.C, Saskatchewan, and Calgary AB. She was creative in decorating her home to make it comfortable for her family and friends.
Mom had a one of a kind sense of humor, her smile was contagious and would light up the room. She had a gentle voice that made us all feel special. She loved her children, grandchildren, siblings, relatives and friends. She was very caring, loving and understanding of us. Everyday was special with mom, she spent holidays and shared family activities with all of us. She spoiled her grandkids with love and compassion. We shared stories and good memories with her. She cherished all of us. She was good company to all her nieces, nephews, family and friends. She attracted people with her charismatic personality and greeted everybody, young and old, and made them feel special in her own way. Mom will be cherished by her children, family and friends. She was close to all of her nieces and nephews especially Jimmy, Tommy, Lance, LeeAnne Joy, Chantelle, Jamie.
Trixie is a direct descendent of Chief Red Crow. She leaves to mourn her surviving children Davie (Mandy), Agatha, Tia, Destiny, Ethan, Summer and Autumn; her grandchildren T.J, Savannah, Jordan, Kaden, Gabriel, Katie Rose, Gracie Lynn, Makayla Raine, Je’riah, Kyrie and Riser; her Aunties- Linda Bruised Head, Claudia Sugai & Phyllis Fox- Holy Singer; uncles- Dennis (Mavis) Chief Moon, John Chief moon & Ed (Elaine) Chief Moon; her siblings Peggy (Roland) Big Throat, Wilma Clearsky, Marlene Chief Moon, Libby Chief Moon, Byron (Shannon) Chief Moon, Kelsey (Tikki) Chief Moon, Anita Eagle Bear (Randy), Marsha (Merlin) Provost; adopted mother Lena Russell and special friend Peter Bull Shields.
She was predeceased by her daughter Daffney, son Michael, mother Mona Chief Moon, father Willy Plain Woman, brothers Gary and Fritz Chief Moon, Nephew Jimmy Shot Both Sides, Maternal Grandparents Victor and Mary Chief Moon and numerous relatives.
A Wake Service will be at Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Sunday, Sept. 24th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Monday, Sept. 25th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Pioneer Cemetery.
