September 22, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Faye Trofanenko (nee Jones), beloved wife of Andy Trofanenko of Calgary, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the age of 81 years.

Faye was born to Katie and Forrest Jones in Lethbridge, AB August 22, 1936. Faye and her older brother Ray were raised by their grandparents, Elmer and Essie Jones following the passing of their mother, Katie when Faye was an infant. They lived together first on the homestead in the Sundial District, then later moved to Lethbridge where Faye completed high school and business college. Faye and Andy married in 1957 in Lethbridge; this past June they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Faye worked six years for customs brokers in Lethbridge and Calgary before staying home full time to raise their family. Faye and Andy moved to Calgary in 1959 where they resided in the same home for 58 years. Faye was actively involved with the Southwood United Church UCW group as a treasurer, and made significant contributions to the monthly Seniors’ Lunches and the annual Tea and Bazaar. Faye loved animals and was never without a pet dog at her side. Retirement years were spent RV’ing across North America with several trips to Arizona during the cold Canadian winter months. Cuba and Mexico were also warm destinations enjoyed.

Faye is survived by her husband, Andy and their children, Howard Trofanenko (Jacky) of Calgary, and Joanne Trofanenko of Port Alberni; her two grandsons, Joel Trofanenko and Brett Trofanenko, both of Calgary; sister, Shirley Jones from Calgary; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Katie Jones (nee Geremia); grandparents, Essie and Elmer Jones; father, Forrest Jones; brother, Ray Jones; and sister, Elinor LaCasse.

Faye was known all her life as a kind, generous, and selfless person who always considered her family first.
