Rose was born August 19, 1922 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and immigrated to Canada in 1952 with her husband and 3 young children. Once in Canada, 2 more children were born, and they built a new life in the Lethbridge area. Rose had many different jobs over the years, but the one she most fondly remembered was her time spent in the kitchen at Perlich Brothers Auction Mart, where many meals were enjoyed, and lifelong friendships were made. She also enjoyed being part of the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church community for many years. Lasting memories were made during gatherings at the family farm. Oma’s cooking, sense of humor and courage will always be remembered. Rose had a zest for life, living her 95 years to the fullest as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Thank you to Legacy Lodge, Dr A. Low and staff at Chinook Regional Hospital 4A for the care and compassion shown to Rose and family during this final chapter of her life.
