Betty Jean Cleland passed away in Calgary on September 14, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Mom, the youngest daughter of Murle and Bessie Dawson, was born on December 7, 1929 in Lethbridge, Alberta. She grew up in the Retlaw/Vauxhall area and married Roy Cleland, on October 12, 1949. Mom resided in Vauxhall, Taber and Lethbridge before moving to Calgary in 2017. Mom was a kind and gentle lady who was loved by many. She will be deeply missed by her three children: Wanda Margach (Doug), Brad Cleland (Sharon), and Brent Cleland. She was a dearly loved grandma to four grandchildren: Julie Phillips (Mike), Paul Margach (Eunyoun), Meghann Bell (Cameron), and Jared Cleland (Abbey). Mom had seven great-granddaughters and one great-grandson: Georgia, Nicola, Kyla, Sydney, Ashlynn, Lily, Skylar and Ryder. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Roy; by her parents, Murle and Bessie Dawson and by her sister, Fay Dunn. A Celebration of Mom’s life will be held at the Vauxhall Seniors Centre, 318 – 5 St N., Vauxhall, Alberta on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
