CAYLEE LYNN BLANEY, beloved daughter of Darren and Carmen Blaney passed away suddenly near Crossfield, Alberta in a tragic car accident on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017 at the age of 23 years.

Caylee is survived by her loving parents, Darren and Carmen Blaney, her brothers Brayden and Landen, her Grandparents Don and Evelyn Adams and Ken and Myrna Blaney, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Caylee was born on June 5, 1994 in Lethbridge, Alberta. Caylee spent her first year living on the Deseret Ranch south of Magrath, her growing up years in Lethbridge and then Stirling, and finally moved with her family to Cardston. Before attending post-secondary school, Caylee participated in a humanitarian service trip to Guatemala where she volunteered in an orphanage. She attended Southern Virginia University for a semester before serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Charlotte, North Carolina. Caylee cherished her mission and was a wonderful missionary who truly loved those she was able to teach. Following her mission, Caylee returned to Cardston where she served as the YSA Branch Relief Society president for two years while working as a receptionist and then doctor’s assistant at the Cardston Clinic. Caylee very much enjoyed working with the doctors, nurses, staff and patients at the clinic and decided to further her education in the medical field. In the fall of 2017, she headed to Edmonton where she was enrolled at NAIT taking upgrading courses with the goal of becoming a Lab/X-ray Technician. Once in Edmonton, she immersed herself in college life and the YSA Branch, making new friends and excelling in her studies. She died in a crash on icy roads while on her way home to Cardston for Christmas.

Caylee had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was blessed to know that families can be together forever. She was a kind, caring woman with the ability to uplift and love those she came in contact with. She had an infectious smile and always made everyone feel included. Caylee genuinely loved people and had the ability to draw people in and make everybody comfortable whether she was home with family, with friends, in North Carolina or in her new adventures in Edmonton. She loved to spend time outdoors with her family in Waterton and at the ranch in Mountain View. She loved life and appreciated the beautiful world around her. Caylee will be dearly missed by her family and all those who love her. The family would like to sincerely thank all those who have reached out to them during this difficult time. Friends may meet the family at the church on Saturday, December 23rd, from 10:00 to 10:45 am prior to the service. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, South Hill Chapel, Cardston, AB on Saturday, December 23rd, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with Bishop Jeff Bectell officiating.
