Posted: January 3rd, 2018With great sadness we announce the passing of ANITA ANTOINETTE GRANT on December 30, 2017 at the age of 68 years, with her family and friends at her side, having fought a courageous battle with cancer.
Anita is survived by her son Jason (Jennifer) Grant of Christiansburg, Virginia, son Mark (Kristin) Grant of Lethbridge, daughter Christyn (Thomas) Nelis of Lethbridge, sister Marjo (Don) Marsé-Thompson and cousin Marlene (Garth) Iking-Daniel. Anita was the proud Oma (Grandmother) to six amazing grandchildren: Brayden and MacKenzie Grant, Julianna and Evan Grant, and Gavin and Madison Nelis.
She is predeceased by her mother Antoinette Marsé, father Henri (Harris) Marsé and sister Yvonne Brown.
Anita was born in Arnhem, Netherlands and immigrated with her parents to Canada when she was two years old. Anita was a passionate teacher and educator for 35 years in Lethbridge before retiring in June 2014.
Anita had an incredible zest for life and her positive attitude to “live life to the fullest” resonated with everyone she knew. She loved travelling and the outdoors including camping, waterskiing and snow skiing. Later in her life, Anita loved to spend time tending to the beautiful flower gardens with Lynn Wells in Willard Lake, Ontario.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, January 6th, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with a reception to follow.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I was in her class when I was in grade 4 about 6 years ago.. she was and still is my favourite teacher 🙂 i will miss her so much.
