Mrs. Helen Buzunis of Fort Macleod, beloved wife of the late Mr. George Buzunis, passed away surrounded by her family at the Cardston Health Care Centre on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the age of 96 years. Helen was born in Eagle Butte, Alberta on August 26, 1921 to Gottleib & Rebecca Weiss. She attended school in Medicine Hat and worked in the restaurant business most of her life. Helen met George Buzunis and they were married on April 28, 1940. The family moved to Lethbridge in 1946 but Helen & George were long term residents of Fort Macleod arriving in 1950. Helen is survived by two daughters Catherine and Georgina; two sons Con and Ted; fourteen grandchildren; two sisters; as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families. Helen is predeceased by one grandson; nine sisters and eight brothers. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the ANGLICAN PARISH OF CHRIST CHURCH, 320 – 21 Street, Fort Macleod, Alberta, with the Right Reverend Sidney Black, officiating. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects one hour prior to the Funeral Service. Interment will follow in the Fort Macleod Union Cemetery.
