Irene Kovacs Anderson

Irene was peacefully ushered into heaven Feb 13th, 2018 at the age of 87 after a full and satisfying life. She is survived by her four children, Alan Anderson(Sue), Joan Perugini (John), Judy Butkus (Dave), Valerie Hill (Brian) and her nine grandchildren: Ian, Anthony, Lina, Jacob, Samantha, Sara, Matt, Jeff, and Naomi.

Irene was born April 6th, 1930 and raised in Stirling, Alberta. She was the daughter of Luee and Irene Kovacs, wheat farmers in the Hungarian Community.

Irene received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from the University of Washington and was affiliated with Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She became one of the first female Engineers for Bell Telephone Company in Seattle. Irene married Orland Anderson and together they designed and built their Redmond home where they raised their family.

Irene was an avid world traveler and enjoyed golf, bridge, reading, dancing and gardening. She loved roses, diamonds, china and crystal, hummingbirds, martinis, cashmere sweaters, rocky road ice cream, weekend brunch with her grandkids and was most proud of her family and farm.

She was a loving and loyal friend to many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
