Neil Manning

1931 – 2018

Mr. Neil Houston Manning, beloved husband of Mrs. Phyllis Manning, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the age of 86 years.

Neil was born in Saskatoon to Jean (Houston) Manning and Roy Manning and lived in that city until he was 9 years old when the family moved to Calgary.

In Calgary, he attended Scarboro School and Central School. Neil worked for 12 years at the Bank of Nova Scotia, after which he became a Chartered Accountant. During his career, he was with Price Waterhouse, in partnership with Miller Mark in Calgary, sole practitioner briefly in Saskatchewan, then with Dawson Berezan in Lethbridge. After retiring, Neil was Treasurer, then Executive Director, of the Lethbridge Community Foundation for over a decade. He enjoyed membership in the Lions, Kiwanis and Probus. He loved his bridge group right up to the end.

Neil is survived by his wife, Phyllis, his daughters, Catherine Jean and Elizabeth Joan, and his son, William Roy, as well as 6 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Neil was so proud of his family.

He was predeceased by his parents and Phyllis’ parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, with Reverend Eva Stanley, officiating. A Graveside Service will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
