Mary Anne “Anne” Huff

1928 – 2018

Anne Huff, passed away peacefully on March 16th, 2018 at the Coaldale Sunny South Lodge at the age of 89 with Walter, her husband of 67 years, by her side. Anne was born and raised in Russell, MB where parents Walter and Irene Todoruk raised Anne, her three sisters and one brother. Walter and Anne were married in Russell, MB on June 7, 1950. A transfer in Walter’s career brought them to their final location of Coaldale in 1963. Anne’s focus was her family, but she was also employed at the Coaldale Post office where she retired in 1987. Anne enjoyed gardening, knitting, needlecraft and cooking. Her Sunday meals were an open invitation for family to gather and enjoy her wonderful cooking. Anne and Walter’s love for camping started with a small tent and graduated to a fully equipped motor home. They were frequent guests at campgrounds around Southern Alberta and BC. Anne and Walter seldom camped alone. Family and friends were always included. Anne is survived by her loving husband Walter, four sons: Douglas (Deb), Bob (Debbie), Brian and Bruce (all from Lethbridge, AB), and two siblings: Lucy Poitras from Winnipeg, MB and Lorne Todoruk (Karen) from Campbell River, BC. She is also survived by ten Grandchildren: Michelle (Dave), Donovan (Emma), Christina (Shane), Mark (Carla), Phillip (Sherry), Saidee, Brooklynn, Wesley, Jason (Maggie) and Meghann (Brett) and Great Grandchildren are Gavin, Caleb, Xander, Merrick, Samuel, Phoebe, Elwood, Jaela, Brylyn, Eric, Brodie and Emily. Special thanks to Dr. Steven Low and the home care nurses and staff at the Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale for their wonderful care. A family gathering will be held to reminisce and share lasting memories of her precious life.
