DELVIN “DEL” ANDREWS, beloved husband of 66 years to Frances Andrews (née Frey), passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the age of 85 years.

Besides his loving wife, Delvin is survived by his daughter Judith (Dennis – deceased) Hooey, their children David (Vivian) Forestell, Suzanne (Javier) Solsona, Jennifer Warren, Tracey (Loewen) Schmidt and Kent (Kimberley) Hooey and their grandchildren Hayley, Cameron and Ethan Warren, Nash and Rio Solsona, Elizabeth Forestell, Jared and Lilly Schmidt and Brodie Hooey; his son Delbert (Lorenda) Andrews, their children Michael Andrews and Steven (Christine) Andrews and their grandchildren Kai, Teyha and Callie Andrews, and Peyton and Brett Smith.

Delvin was born in Broxburn on January 27, 1933, and was the sixth of seven children born to John and Lily Andrews. He grew up in the farming community and attended school in Crystal Lake, Hardieville, and Coaldale. He married Frances Frey on October 25, 1950. Together, they have resided in Lethbridge, Coaldale, Magrath, and Claresholm.

He was employed by several companies and farmers prior to becoming a plumber and gas fitter. Before he retired in 1989, he worked as a Provincial Gas Inspector.

Delvin was an avid curler and golfer. He was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge #119, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Lethbridge Curling Club, the Henderson Lake Golf Club, the Elk’s Club, and the Lethbridge Senior Centre Organization.

Delvin will be remembered for his generous and loving nature. He was never too busy to help a family member or friend. He loved to dance and play cards with his friends. He especially loved telling jokes and making people laugh.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery prior to the Memorial Service.

A Memorial Service will be held at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011 – 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta on Monday, March 26, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend James Grunden officiating.

    It is with deep sadnes that we pass on our condolences, on the passing of a dear friend and relative.. He was so many things to so many people and to us he will be truly missed.
