Catherine North Peigan

1934 – 2018

Catherine North Peigan (nee Crow Eagle) was born on March 17, 1934 at Brocket, AB and departed to the heavenly kingdom peacefully on April 1, 2018 at the Chinook Regional Hospital and was surrounded by her immediate family at the age of 84 years.

Catherine is survived by her children Geoff (Mildred) Sr. Crow Eagle, Harriet, Mervin (Marie), Caroline, Adam (Lena), and Gerald North Peigan. Kiipiitaapookak Tyler North Peigan; sister Louise English and special nieces and nephews: Wendy English and Betty Smith; Charles Red Young Man. Including adopted son Chucky Beaver, and 26 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren: 6; as well as her fur baby cat Sobey.

She was predeceased by her parents Charlie and Alice (nee Escape) Crow Eagle; husband John North Peigan; children: Barbra, John, Cathy, Winston, Perry and Alvin North Peigan; siblings: brothers Felix, Francis (Tap toe), Dominic, Vincent and Oliver Crow Eagle; sisters: Maggie Provost, Gertie Wolf Tail, Josephine Plain Eagle and Gertrude Crow Eagle; grandson Casey Crow Eagle; godchild Maggie Devine.

For those close to Catherine, she was Kommii. Kommii resided in Lethbridge from 1982 till her passing. Kommii was an avid crafter who had many creations. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. And also enjoyed Bingo as entertainment.

A Wake service will be held from 6:00pm to 10:00pm on Monday, April 9, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th Street South, Lethbridge, AB.

A Visitation will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at PIIKANI COMMUNITY HALL, Brocket, AB. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm with graveside service at PIIKANI CEMETERY.
