Karen Cahoon

1948 – 2018

Karen Kim Cahoon (nee Bolokoski) of Taber, Alberta, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the age of 69 years.

Missing her loving presence is devoted husband, Allan; dog, Willow (yes, the dog comes before the children); sons, Todd Boschee (and Tammy Boschee), Mark (Jana) Boschee; stepdaughter, Tracy (Adam Kostek); grandchildren, Taelynn, Taryn, Elise, Sacha, Hanna, and Peyton. Also left to mourn is her dear sister, Shirley (Bob) Huddlestone and their family (Barry & Debbie Huddleston, Tovi, Jim & Celeste Nalder).

Karen was born May 19, 1948 in Medicine Hat to William and Francis Bolokoski. She was an excellent student, particularly enjoying the arts. Her talent for drawing had her commissioned to sketch the portraits of the Medicine Hat Tigers in the early ‘70s. While raising her sons in Warner, Alberta, she taught piano and handed out plentiful stickers to her lucky, talented students. She also worked as an administrative assistant for the County of Warner Public Works Department for many years. Her love for her grandchildren, movies, books, music and camping has filled Karen’s retirement years. She will be remembered for her unconditional support, loving worry, sense of humour, and excitement for giving.

Her family will celebrate her life in a private ceremony and would appreciate memorial donations made to Alberta Lung Association, 17420 Stony Plain Rd #208, Edmonton, AB T5S 1K6, Canadian Diabetes Association, 204, 2323 – 32 Avenue NE, Calgary, AB T2E 6Z3 or Canadian Cancer Society, 55 St. Clair Avenue W., Suite 300, Toronto, ON M4V 2Y7.

Cremation entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
