He is also survived by his biological mother, Marie Bernadette (the Late Chester) Davis, his brothers: Wayne, Clayton, Warren, Cory, and Leo, his sisters: Geri, Carolyn, Annette, Roxanne, Kris, Desirae, and Kelly Thunder Chief. Joshua is also survived by his uncle Charlie Small Face, and his aunts: Mary Twigg, Theresa Plume, Veronica Brewer, Christine Good Dagger, and Laura Gervais, and by his Great Uncle Donald Big Swallow, and Great Aunt Harriette Wells. Special cousin Russell Twigg. His sisters in law: Brandy Bellhumer (Vince White Quills), and Lesslie (Gary) Munghun, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends and extended family members left to mourn his passing are the: Twiggs, Big Throats, Small Faces, Many Guns, Day Riders, Many Bears, Weasel Heads, Bloods, Potts, Standing Alone, and Crop Eared Wolf families.

Joshua is predeceased by his parents James and Celina Twigg, his son Lane, his brothers: Leonard, Tony, Charlie, and Sheldon, his sisters: Doreen, and Mary-Anne. His sister in law, Kim Twigg, his niece Lacey Twigg, and his great niece, Brielle Twigg.

Forever a Cowboy, Josh was raised on his parent’s ranch on the Blood Reserve. He was an accomplished Steer Rider, Bull Rider, Bareback Rider and Saddle Bronc Rider. He rode bulls for 23 years in various Associations. Highlights of his rodeo career include: winning the year end and finals championships in the Chief Mountain Rodeo Association, the Indian Rodeo Cowboys Association, and the Blood Reserve Rodeo Club in the Steer Riding and Bull Riding Events. In his first 2 years of rodeo, he held the record for winning every single rodeo and finals in the CMRA in the steer riding event. His family and rodeo family were also very proud of him when he rode the bulls Jazz and Little Jazz. Joshua has won so many rodeos over the years that they are too numerous to mention, and Josh would never mention them. Humble and kind, he took every victory with a huge smile on his face and bashful eyes, never one to boast, or brag. He practically gave away every trophy he ever won, and just went on to the next for the love of the ride.

Never one to sit still for very long, Joshua has held various jobs over the years, most recently, he worked for his sister Carolyn, helping her to care for their disabled nephews Riley and Dylan, who he had a close bond with after the passing of their father, mother, sister and niece. He has also worked for Bouvry Exports (3 yrs.), Medical Transportation (8 yrs.), broke horses and did ranch work for Melvin Wadsworth, worked at Albert’s Gas Bar, Balog Auctions, and spent 13 years driving school bus for the Blood Reserve School Bus Co-op.

Joshua held family above all, and did all he could to make sure those he cared about most were well looked after. He never turned down a request for help, and would often show up to his older siblings homes and do things like take out the garbage, mow the lawn, and clean up the yard, all without being asked, and never asking for anything in return. He will be sadly missed for his huge smile, kind eyes, and helpful heart. Joshua loved his rosary and rarely missed an opportunity to pray to Our Blessed Mother. Therefore, the family invites everyone to attend a Wake Service at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Sunday, May 13, 2018, from 6:00 P.M. – 11:00 P.M. The Interment will follow at the Twigg Family Cemetery, Twigg Ranch. Feast to follow at the Moses Lake Gymnasium. In lieu of flowers and cards, family asks for donations to be made to the funeral expenses at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
