Mr. William “Morris” Jarvie of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Nita Jarvie for 58 years who passed away October 29, 2011 at the age of 83 years.

Morris was born in Lethbridge to Anthony and Sarah Jarvie on February 13, 1928. He attended school in Lethbridge then worked with his father digging basements, drive ways etc. by hand and using horses, cutting and hauling ice blocks out of the river for ice shacks, Silverwood Dairy until joining the family business J.A. Jarvie Sand & Gravel which later become LaFarge as a very skilled employee in various positions retiring in 1992.

He devoted his life to family and enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and the odd pilsner. Morris was always there for helping his boys with projects such as fences, garages, farming, race cars and loved seeing his grandchildren.

In 2001 his health failed and after several years of Nita and his family caring for him he spent his last two years at the Park Meadows Good Samaritans Lodge.

Besides his loving wife Nita Morris was survived by his sons Ken (Tara), Len (Shelly), Bob (Pat) of which Bob has since passed. Grandchildren Kanyon, Kennedy, Cole, Dael, Johnathan, Kendra, Ryan. Great Grandchildren Julia, Marshal; Morris’s brothers and sisters Marshal, Tony, Donald, Sandra, Dorthy, Carolyn and their families.

There will be a graveside celebration of Morris’ and Nita’s lives on June 9 at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at the Italian Club 1511 St. Edwards Blvd. North.
