PETERS

STANLEY FRASER PETERS, 84, of Lethbridge passed away June 20th, 2018, at St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge after a battle with cancer. He leaves his sons Evan (Sharon) Peters and Bill (Fran) Peters, his daughter Dianne (Colin) Noble, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, and his special friend Heidi Oishi. He is predeceased by his daughter Susan and his dear wife Anne Racz.

Stan was born on the family farm on July 26, 1933 in Canonto, Ontario. He was the tenth child of sixteen. Stan is survived by his sisters; Lois, Keitha and Merlin, and brother; Calvin.

He spent his childhood working on the farm. As a young boy he learned to knit socks and donated them to the young soldiers during WWII.

He got his driver’s license at the age of 14 and that started a life time of a love for cars. He won many ribbons with his 1963 Valiant. He also enjoyed driving a school bus for many years.

Stan moved to Alberta in 1976 with his family. During that time, he worked installing Propane Carburetion Systems and also was a Town Foreman in Coutts.

In his later life he enjoyed playing his harmonica (as did his mother and father) and entertaining at Senior’s Centres and St. Michael’s Health Centre. He and Heidi loved going to Jamborees and dancing.

His favourite story to tell before he passed on was how he sold 56 Electrolux Vacuums in a month and was awarded a trophy for his Salesmanship.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at SALMON & SONS FUNERAL HOME 433 Stubb Ross Road South, Lethbridge (entrance to airport) at 2:00p.m. Friends are welcome to meet the family from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the Service.
