1931 – 2018

Ina Theresa Harding passed away on July 4th, 2018 at the age of 87. Born in Lake Doucette, Nova Scotia, Ina is predeceased by her husband Paul, parents Dana and Mary Thompson, her brother James Thompson, sisters Dorothy Hill, Jeanette Thompson, and Grace Gilpin. She is survived by her sister Victoria Perez and brothers Dana and Hank Thompson, and her children Linda Broderson (Rick), Alice Paradis (Jean) and Derek Harding (Yolayne), and her grandchildren Dustin Gould (Katrina), Colette Rhodes (Thomas and their son Adam), Michael Paradis (Claudia), Julie Kiew (Justin and their children Eliana and Matteo), Daniel (Christina and their children Benjamin and Lucas), Kimberly Harding and Trevor Harding.

Ina trained and worked in Laboratory Technology at the Provincial Lab in Halifax. Then she came to Calgary and worked at the Provincial Lab in Bowness. She and Paul were married at First Baptist Church in Calgary in 1953. Ina worked at St. Michael’s Hospital and then later at the Animal Diseases Research Institute as a laboratory technician. Lethbridge has been their home for sixty-five years. Ina loved nature and would often go for walks along the river valley with her binoculars hoping to add to her yearly list of bird species. She passed this love of nature down to her children and grandchildren. She was also a fan of poetry and literature and would often recite long passages from heart if the mood was right.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 1614-5 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta with Pastor Stephen Reynolds, officiating. Cremation will be entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
