VIPOND
ROBERT JAKE VIPOND of Lethbridge, AB, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the age of 76 years.
He is lovingly remembered by his nephews, Anthony and Lawrence Vipond.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Ann and Robert Vipond and his brother, Lawrence Vipond.
Robert was born on July 4, 1942 in Chaplin, Sask. and lived for a time in Shaunavon. Around 1948, his family moved to Lethbridge where he spent the rest of his life. Robert worked in the construction industry in Lethbridge and enjoyed his time with his many colleagues and friends.
Once he retired, he loved to golf, fish and spend time gardening, walking along the river with his cocker spaniel and best bud, “Reno” and watching every hockey game he found on TV. Robert enjoyed listening to music and especially had an affinity for Blues and Jazz. He also loved waxing, polishing and working on the mechanics of his Ford Mustang.
Robert will be remembered for his outstanding wit and sense of humour, heartfelt laugh, wise understanding and belief in good in all people as well as his firm, vise grip-like handshake. He will be dearly missed.
A Private Family Interment will take place at a later date.
