Delores Wingerter

1935 – 2018

Mrs. Dolores Wingerter of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Leo Wingerter, passed away on Saturday October 27, 2018 at the age of 83. Mom (Marie Aline Dolores Sincennes) was born in Val Marie, Saskatchewan on September 26, 1935. She was the middle child of 17 children. Her first language was French, and she had to learn English when she went to school. Growing up in a large family she learned the value of hard work and enjoyed helping her Mom. At the age of 19, Mom went to what she thought was a babysitting job, but it turned out to be a small house party where she met her future husband Leo. They married on August 15, 1956 and moved from Saskatchewan to Lethbridge with their baby boy Leslie who was born on June 15, 1957. Three more children were born, and Mom stayed home to raise her children. She made bread, the best cinnamon buns ever and would sew clothes for her children when she wasn’t tending to her garden. After her children grew up and got married, Mom and Dad moved to Claresholm and lived there for the next 30 years. Mom loved her children and grandchildren and always cherished their visits together. She will be forever missed. Dolores is survived by her two daughters Doris (Mike) Foster and Linda Soenen; two sons Les (Val) Wingerter, Gerald (Pauline) Wingerter; Grandchildren Christie (Roman) Sizer, Sharla (Dave) Bort, David Wingerter, Ryan (Aileen ) Foster, Dan Foster, Joe Soenen, Shaun (Simone) Soenen, Lenee (David) Veres-Fyfe plus eight great grandchildren; three sisters Noella (Scotty) Park, Alida (Dan) Genn and Yvonne (Bob) Nelson; one brother Roger Sincennes as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Dolores was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Gabrielle Sincennes; son-in-law Tony Soenen and twelve brothers and sisters. Vigil Rights (Prayers) service will be held at 7:00PM, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM, on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at ST. BASIL’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 13 Street North, Lethbridge AB. Cremation will be entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
