PAUL

It is a very sad day for the Paul family as we say goodbye to KEVIN BRUCE PAUL. Kevin passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, February 5, 2019 at the age of 57 years.

Kevin is survived by his loving mother Shirlie Paul of Magrath. He is also survived by his brothers Randy (Cathy) Paul and Mike Paul; sisters Nancy (Henry) Wiebe and sister-in-law Liz Paul as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Kenneth James Paul, brother Kenneth LeRoy Paul, grandparents Ken & Laura Paul and Roy & Olive Ockey and nephew David Paul Wiebe.

Kevin was born in Cardston, AB, on March 18, 1961. He had an active, busy childhood. He was a happy, funny, curious child.

In 1968, the family moved to Lethbridge, AB. Growing up, Kevin enjoyed going on trips with his parents. He loved swimming in the ocean just about anywhere he could, walking on the beach and climbing mountains. He enjoyed going to car shows and putting together models of old cars and trucks. Kevin had a real passion and knowledge of cars and trucks. He graduated from LCI and went to work for CP Rail with his older brother Ken, who also sadly passed away in 1984 while working for CP Rail.

Kevin started college at LCC in 1983. While attending college, he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at the age of 23. Because of his mental illness, Kevin was moved to Ponoka Mental Hospital. He was institutionalized until June 23, 2014, when he moved back to Lethbridge to a group home. Things did not work out there so Kevin moved in with his sister Nancy and her husband in October 2016, where he lived until his sudden passing. Kevin was a caring, helpful, happy person. His family will miss his smile and his presence in their life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cardston Cemetery, on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 1:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Schizophrenia Society, 234C – 12B Street North, Lethbridge, AB, T1H 2K7.
