LIND, Julene

LIND

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of JULENE ANN LIND; our beautiful, amazing warrior mom, wife and grandmother. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the age of 71 years, surrounded by love.

She fought her battle with amazing courage, grace, dignity and strength like we’ve never seen.

Our beautiful mom was born and raised in Lethbridge, AB where she met the love of her life, Gary, while working at the local laundry mat. Apparently, all it took was one look; they married in 1968 and had three beautiful children. Mom and Dad had recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary in March.

For the last 11 years, Mom worked at Taco Time in west Lethbridge – a job she loved and where she made lifelong friends. She recently retired and was ready to start the next chapter of her life.

Mom loved sitting in her beautiful garden, full of the flowers she so lovingly planted, and she would listen to the birds that she fed faithfully every day. As day turned to night, she would sit in her garden amongst her many, many, many solar lights. This was her true happy place; she made her garden into such a beautiful and magical place.

She was the kindest, sweetest, gentlest and most loving person we have ever known. Slow to anger but so quick to giggle and smile. Even through her illness, she never once complained or felt sorry for herself. Our Mom touched so many hearts and lives with her kindness and compassion, and we couldn’t be more proud to call her ‘Mom’.

Julene is survived by the love of her life, Gary and their fur baby, Toby, as well as her three daughters, Tracy, Kimberly (Dave) and Lawanda (Rob) and her five precious grandchildren, Hayley, Aidan, Emlyn, Madysen and Masen. She is also survived by her sister, Maryann (Darell), her niece, Jennifer (Rob) and her nephew, Chris (Trish).

She was predeceased by her parents, William & Anna Stannard.

All is well, Mama. We will plant our trees and wait for your visits. We love you; see you soon!

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Death is nothing at all.

It does not count.

I have only slipped away into the next room.

Nothing has happened.

Everything remains exactly as it was.

I am I, and you are you,

And the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.

Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.

Call me by the old familiar name.

Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.

Put no difference into your tone.

Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.

Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.

Life means all that it ever meant.

It is the same as it ever was.

There is absolute and unbroken continuity.

What is this death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you, for an interval,

Somewhere very near,

Just ‘round the corner.

All is well.

Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.

One brief moment and all will be as it was before.

How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!
