Allan Corbett

1928 – 2019

Mr. Allan Corbett of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Isabel Corbett, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, May 20, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Al moved from Nelson, B.C. to Lethbridge in 1949 to work for CP Express. He and Isabel met in Lethbridge and were married in 1954. Al and Isabel continued to reside in Lethbridge where they raised their two children Barbara and Tom. Al went to work for Oliver Chemical Industrial in 1965. He held a variety of positions with Oliver until his retirement in 1991. Al was a very active volunteer in Lethbridge at St. Andrews Church, the Lethbridge Food Bank, the Lethbridge Air Show, the Kiwanis Festival and the Lethbridge Swim Club. Al always enjoyed being around children and loved being Santa Claus at the College Value Mall. One of his great joys was the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Through his life Al dealt with heart disease, colon cancer and all the many issues related to kidney disease and met all of them without complaint and a positive, “can do” attitude. Besides his loving wife of 64 years Isabel, Allan is survived by his daughter Barbara (Sandy Sutherland) Kinahan; son Tom (Lynn) Corbett; grandchildren Tim (Kira) Kinahan, Graham (Brittany Stella) Kinahan, Brandon (Desirae) Kinahan, Kelsey (Glen) Des Roche, Ryan (Jayna Welch) Corbett, Meghan (Abrar Khan) Corbett; twelve great-grandchildren; brother Maurice (Enid) Corbett and sister-in-law Anne Corbett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Allan was predeceased by his parents Victor and Jeannie-Ann Corbett; brothers Thomas, Levi, John, Jim, Gerald and Ronald, and his only sister Ellen. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 27, 2019 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. With Reverend Hugh Jack officiating. A private family Internment will be held prior to the service. Flowers are gratefully declined.
