ROUSSY

It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, SUSAN PEGGY ROUSSY, beloved wife of Philip Roussy, at the Fort Macleod Health Centre on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the age of 63 years.

Susan will be lovingly remembered by her husband Philip; daughter Sarah (Myles) Pollock of Redcliff, AB and son Edward (Jasmin) Roussy of Lethbridge, AB; brothers Jack Passey and Bill (Linda) Passey both of Calgary, AB and brother Raymond (Charlyn) Passey of Salmon Arm, B.C; sisters Jeanne (Darryl) Harrison of Calgary, AB and Frances (Lorne) Ulmer of Chestermere, AB. She is also survived by her close friends Charmaine Dittrick (Paul Pritchard) and Karen (Doug) Christie.

Susan was born on May 6, 1956 in Calgary to Art and Myra Passey. She spent her childhood there, graduated high school and attended Mount Royal College, after which she became an administration assistant at Weston Bakery and later with the Calgary Catholic School Board. She married her best friend Philip Roussy “The Car Starter” in 1979. They went on to raise two children, Edward (born 1981) and Sarah (born 1986). In 1984, due to a recession, they moved to Tumbler Ridge, BC for four years before finally settling down for good in Fort Macleod, AB. Susan was an active leader in the community, taking on volunteer positions and/or being involved with the Girl Guides, 4-H and other organizations. She was a loving mother to both of her children and a devoted wife to her husband Phil. After completing an accounting program at Lethbridge College, Susan and Phil both decided to become entrepreneurs and start their own oilfield reclamation consulting business, PR Enviro in 1997. Susan served as the accountant and administrator for PR Enviro for several years. Later on, she worked as a cook for local care facilities in Fort Macleod until 2015. Susan was an avid reader and collector of porcelain and crystal figurines and plates. She loved family gatherings (especially at Christmas) and enjoyed long walks with her dog Charlie. She was a very generous person to everyone she knew and always gave a helping hand to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

A Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. with Patrick Siedlecki officiating.
