LEAVENS Lillian Yukiko Leavens (Sakamoto) July 7, 1939 – January 5, 2020

Lillian beloved wife of Allan Leavens of Picture Butte, Alberta passed away at the age of 80 years. Lillian was born in Pitt Meadows, B.C. in 1939 and with family moved to Taber, Alberta where she completed her highschool. She then moved to Lethbridge in 1956 where she attended hairdressing school. Lillian continued working as a hairdresser up until her retirement. She met Allan Leavens and was married in 1970. They had two daughters Terra (Chris) Liska and Alana (Aaron Snowdon) Leavens and four grandchildren Zachary, Jackson and Sebastian Liska and Owen Vander Hulst. After many years in Lethbridge they retired and moved to Picture Butte. She loved baking, gardening and enjoyed traveling to various places. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons. She is survived by her siblings, brother Norman Sakamoto, sisters Irene Sakamoto, Evelyn (Jim) Cozac, Janice (Bob) Foster and Carolyn Sakamoto, Sisters-in-law Tobie Sakamoto and Louise Sakamoto. She was predeceased by her parents Masahiro and Asaye, her brothers George, Larry and Darren, and her niece Lindsay Bain. Lillian will be missed by her family and several nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Family would like to thank Dr. Amatto, Dr. Shukkoor and the nurses who provided great care to Lillian in the palliative unit at St. Michael’s. Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta at 10:30am. 470 40 St S, Lethbridge. Donations to the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta in Lillian’s name are greatly appreciated.

    Sorry Allan of lil passing we had good times working together last time I saw lil was outside Safeway west side anyway take care she was like by everyone
