Patrick “Pat” Fournier

1948 – 2020

Patrick “Pat” Fournier of Lethbridge, AB, beloved husband of Lyn Fournier, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 3, 2020 at Foothills Medical Centre. Pat was born in Moose Jaw, SK on May 10, 1948 to Lloyd and Elsie Fournier. Some of his fondest memories growing up were fishing with his Grandma and Grandpa Fournier on Buffalo Pound Lake and spending summers with his Uncle Wes and Grandma Farr on the family farm in Ogema, SK. Pat graduated from Peacock High School in Moose Jaw and went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Lyn, on January 4, 1969. Over the years, Pat and Lyn lived in many communities throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta, where they raised three children and Pat worked as a bank manager, partsman and driver until his retirement. Pat enjoyed gardening and traveling throughout Canada, the US, Australia and New Zealand. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching their activities whether it was hockey, ringette or the performing arts. He was an avid fan of the Lethbridge Hurricanes and went to the games every chance he could. In his downtime he loved to follow the adventures of Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Raj on the Big Bang Theory. Pat is survived by his loving wife, Lyn, his sons, Wesley (Ann) Fournier, Wayne (Claire) Fournier and his daughter Kelly (Don) Marois. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jonathon (Tiffany) Petrie-Fournier, Eric Fournier, Alicia Fournier, Alexander Marois, Julianna Marois, great grandson, Ryder Petrie and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Elsie Fournier and sister, Betty Fournier. Special Thank You to the Lethbridge EMS, the Chinook Regional Hospital Emergency Department, STARS Air Ambulance and the Foothills Medical Centre Intensive Care Unit C. Pat couldn’t have received better, more compassionate care. A private family service will be held.
