1932 – 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce that the Lord has suddenly taken from our midst, my dearly beloved wife, our caring mother, and loving grandmother, Dirkje Van Schothorst-Van Middendorp. She passed away at the Chinook Regional hospital on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the age of 88.
Dirkje was born in Barneveld, The Netherlands on January 25, 1932. She immigrated to Canada in 1978 with her husband, Hendrik, and their 12 children to settle in the Lethbridge area.
She is survived by her husband and their children: John (Ann), Evert (Kathy), Gerard (Denise), Peter (Brenda), Harry (Marieke), Jake (Natalie), Corina Ringelberg (Kees), Marja, Trudy van de Kraats (Art), Liz, Aalbert, Everhard, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dirkje is also survived by her brother, Jacob van Middendorp, sisters Liesbeth Van de Bruinhorst, Eesje ter Keurst and Mary Foelkel.
She was predeceased by her parents, Evert & Petertje Van Middendorp-Van tFoort as well as her in laws Jan & Geertruida Van Schothorst-Ter Maarten, Jan ter Keurst, Evert Van de Bruinhorst, Otto Foelkel and Bep Van Middendorp-den Braber.
She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

An opportunity to extend Condolences will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday September 2, 2020 at the NETHERLANDS REFORMED CONGREGATION OF LETHBRIDGE 90022 Range Rd 211, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A private Funeral Service (by invite only) will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at NETHERLANDS REFORMED CONGREGATION OF LETHBRIDGE, 90022 Range Rd 211, Lethbridge, Alberta with Reverend E.C. Adams, officiating.
Interment will follow at Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge Alberta.
