VERLA FLEXHAUG (HEGGIE)
July 24, 1943 – September 1, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Verla Rae Flexhaug (Heggie) wife of Monte Flexhaug. Verla passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 1, 2020 at the age of 77 years.
Verla was born and raised in Raymond, Alberta; she was number three of eight daughters to Dean and Georga Heggie. She has fond memories of her grandma Heggie and all the love and affection she gave. Verla later spent time working in Waterton where she made lifelong memories and met Betty who would become a great life-long friend.
Verla was the best mom, grandma and great grandma to all her girls. Her daughters have memories of their mom who seemed to be able to do it all, and was always such a strong support in their lives. Through the years she spent much of her time trying new hobbies; she enjoyed everything from knitting, needle work, quilting, ceramics and much more through the years.
She also enjoyed spending time in her garden. Her granddaughters fondly remember many special things about her including some of the more simple things such as time spent visiting with grandma after school.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Monte Flexhaug; daughter Cheree (Dale) Pickering and their children Kori (Jeff) Bezooyen and Danyel Pickering; daughter Suzanne (Charles) Jarvie and their children Nicole (Austin) Jarvie and Kelli Jarvie, and her great-granddaughters Mckinley Blokker and Ellie Bezooyen who knew her affectionatly as Gigi.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 8 at 2:00 p.m. at SALMON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 433 Stubb Ross Road South Lethbridge.
