BOŽENA KOSTECKI, of Lethbridge, AB, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 64 years.

Božena is the loving mother of Jonathan (Melissa) Růžek of Lethbridge, AB and Jessica Růžek of Montreal, QC and grandmother to Felix Růžek. She is also survived by her sister Mariana (Zvonko) Turuk of Taber, AB.

She was predeceased by her parents, Marija and Stjepan Kostecki, both of Lethbridge.

Božena was born on November 9, 1955 in Kutina, Croatia and immigrated to Canada with her parents and younger sister in 1974. “Back home,” as she used to say, Božena became talented in Croatian folk traditions—embroidery, gardening, and dancing—which remained her passions throughout her life. Božena’s often said that being a mother to her children Jonathan and Jessica was her greatest joy, which showed in the infinite love and support she gave to them. She dedicated 25 years to Euro Physical Therapy as a dedicated office manager and physio aid; she loved cracking jokes with patients and showing genuine care for their well-being. In April of 2020, Božena became a grandmother to Felix Douglas Ash Růžek (parents Jonathan and Melissa). Sadly, Božena spent the last few years of her life suffering from health complications, and only experienced the joy of being a grandma for a few short months. Božena will be forever missed and loved by her children, grandson, sister, aunt, and many friends, both near and far. Sa zemlje natrag na zemlju, vaš ljubav zauvijek.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family for a Memorial Service at the ELKS COMMUNITY RECREATION AREA (Indian Battle Park), 55-79 Botteril Bottom Road South, Lethbridge, AB, on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 11:00 A.M.
