Orah “June” Kemper Hartley

Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep at St. Therese Villa in Lethbridge on October 8, 2020, where she and Dad had lived for the past eight years.

She is survived by her loving husband Wayne Hartley and six children: Cindy (Ken) Christensen, Caldwell, Idaho, Beverly Derricott, Fort Macleod, AB, Tim (Crystal) Hill, Lethbridge, AB, Stephen (Susan) Hill, Lethbridge, AB, Jason (Paula) Hartley, Cardston, AB, and Pam (Troy) De Forest, Olds, AB. Mom also has 21 grandchildren, 39 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons. Mom was predeceased by two of her children, Matthew, and Jill in 1980.

Mom was born June 22, 1932 in Taber, AB and spent her early years in the Cranford area. She lived her early adult years in Stirling, AB before moving the family to the ranch south of Cardston in 1978. Mom and Dad spent many years hosting family get togethers and working hard on the ranch. The grandchildren have many memories of time spent gopher hunting with grandpa and family wiener roasts at the picnic spot. Grandma’s homemade bread and strawberry jam were a highlight of any ranch visit. We were always welcome there and felt the love and support of both Grandma and Grandpa.

Mom will be remembered by family and all who knew her for her unwavering faith and great strength through her many challenges in life. Never complaining or feeling sorry for herself she weathered life with fortitude and complete faith in Heavenly Father’s plan for her.

Due to COVID restrictions a private family funeral is being held. Condolences can be shared with the family via the Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston www.legacyfuneralhome.ca/send-condolences.html
