Doris Edna Shearer

1929 – 2020

Doris Edna Shearer (nee Cutforth) died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday night, November 10, 2020 surrounded by family.

She was predeceased by her husband Bob Shearer Sr.; her parents Frank and Eva Cutforth and her nine brothers and sisters.

She leaves behind four children, Patricia (John) Warnke, Bob Jr. (Wendy) Shearer, Doug (Geri) Shearer, and Karen (Keith) Flatla, plus 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Doris was born and raised on a farm just outside of Barons. She met her husband Bob in Barons where they both attended high school and married in 1950. They were married for 67 years and were seldom apart. Together they enjoyed traveling, visiting with their family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Doris completed her teaching certificate in Calgary before starting her family.

Her greatest joy was raising her family and she later spent several more enjoyable years working at Eatons department store until her retirement.

She will be forever in our hearts.

Cremation entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.

    Rebembering Doris and Bob neighbours from across the street at birch place loved them both great people lost contact really sorry for your loss

    My deepest sympathies to the Shearer/Cutforth family in the loss of your beloved Doris. I have many fond memories of the many kindnesses your mom and dad showed to me as Karen’s childhood friend. Your mom was fiercely protective of her family and such a ray of light. May you find peace and healing with time. My thoughts are with all of you.
