Deborah “Deb” Bakker

1960 – 2020

Deborah Elaine Bakker, beloved wife of Evert Bakker, passed away at home with her loving husband by her side on December 22, 2020 at the age of 60 years.

She is survived by her brother Jim (Any) Rivest; in-laws Hendrika Bakker, Marianna (Glenn) Charles, Marcella (Tim) Klein and William (Lillian) Bakker, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Deb is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who played an integral role in her life and were generous in their love and recipients of her love. She treasured her furry children greatly and is survived by her “guard” dog Lizzie B.

Deb was predeceased by her parents as well as as two uncles and two aunts. She was also predeceased by her maternal grandparents who raised Deb and Jim like their own children.

Deb had a heart for people which led to her career as a counselor for many years. During her four-year battle with cancer, Deb fought fiercely strengthened through the journey by a solid faith in her Lord and Saviour. Deb was very appreciative of the many kindnesses extended by family and friends during this time.

A private family Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 with a Celebration of Life scheduled at a later date.
