ALEX COSOVAN, beloved husband of Linda, passed away at home on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the age of 80 years. Alex’s passing was not due to Covid-19.

Besides his loving wife Linda, he is survived by his daughter Shannon (Mike Fick). Alex was also survived by Linda’s children: Rhonda, Sheri (Doug) and Jerry; sisters: Katherine Shuttleworth and Dorothy Campbell (Harry) and brother-in-law David as well as many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Annie Cosovan, his sister Margaret Pasisknek, first wife Marlene and brother-in-law Grant.

Alex was born on August 6, 1940 in Three Hills, Alberta. When he was four years old, the family moved to Innisfail, where Alex spent his youth growing up on the family farm. He graduated from Lindsay Thurber Composite High School at the age of 15. He worked with his family on the farm and then embarked on a career with a band he had helped form and travelled across Canada entertaining people with his singing and enjoying western music. He would remember everyone’s birthday with their own personal serenade.

Alex was involved with his community and was once a member of the local Shriners Club and was a Mason.

He enjoyed 35 years of working as a Meat Inspector with CFIA and was very involved in the Union at all levels. After retirement, he looked forward to the monthly coffee dates with his old buddies, travelling and site seeing.

Alex’s family would like to thank Lethbridge EMS and Dr. Jonkers for their care and support to Alex.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Alex, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (hsf.donorportal.ca)
