CAMILLIA (RED CROW) WADSWORTH ‘POOK’AAKII’

With great sadness we announce the passing of CAMILLIA (RED CROW) WADSWORTH, born September 10, 1947 in Fort Macleod, AB, passed January 4, 2021 in Lethbridge, AB, at the age of 73 years.

Left to mourn her passing, her husband of 46 years Stephen Wadsworth; children: Phillip, Stephen Jr. (Pam), Quentin (Charlene), Sheri (PJ) Wadsworth, Delphine (Gary) Right Hand; grandchildren: Dakota, Alexis, Stevie Ray, Jaden, Aaron, Charmain, Cheyenne, Emerson, Emery, Trevor, great-grandchildren Phoenix (Felix) and Mateo (Potato) and many adopted grandchildren too numerous to mention.

Camillia is survived by her siblings Clarence Red Crow, Ada Red Crow, Karen Hooper, Sharon (Darrel) Beddome, Maxine Black Plume, Stella (Peter) Chief Calf, Rosie McHugh; sister-in-law Elizabeth Red Crow, Bernice Yellowfeet, Anne Marie (Bruce) Wolf Child; brother-in-law Max Wadsworth, Winston (Marie) Wadsworth, Bryan Wadsworth and numerous nieces and nephews. Extended family Red Crows, Black Water, Hunt, Cochrane, Scout, Many Grey Horses, Goberts, Mchugh.

Camillia graduated from the Lethbridge College with a diploma in Child and Youth Care, continued on to receive a degree in social work from the University of Lethbridge. Camillia worked throughout her life with various organizations such as Tillicum Haus Friendship Centre in Nanaimo, BC, Nuchathalt Tribe in Zeballos, BC; Blood Tribe Social Development Standoff, AB; Kainai Children Services Corp., Standoff, AB and Driftpile First Nation Education, Driftpile, AB.

Camillia loved to travel and along the way she met many friends. She was avid at beading and making outfits for her husband, children and grandchildren. Camillia was an aspiring Facebook addict leaving her facebook open because she didn’t know how to log out. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren dance and spending quality time with them. Camillia had adopted grandchildren who she loved very much and always thought of them on their birthdays and Christmas. When not spending her time talking on the phone with a friend or relative, she never missed an episode of Days of our Lives. She was a very caring and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always kept in touch with all of her nieces and nephews, and would always give them lectures when needed.

Predeceased parents Dick and Annie (nee Hunt) Nice Cutter, bio mom Ada (Red Crow) Kadonaga, siblings; Willie Red Crow, Johnny Red Crow, Fred Red Crow, Carol Red Crow, Lena Red Crow, Shelly Healy, Esther Rides at the Door (Oka). Walter (Betty) Potts; sister-in-law Yvonne Wadsworth, Elizabeth (LowHorn) Wadsworth.

Camillia is predeceased by her daughters Paulette Wadsworth, Corrine Red Crow, Baby girl Wadsworth and adopted son; Samuel Wolf Plume also predeceased by her grandchildren Anna Irene Wadsworth, Natasha Sweetgrass, Natalie Sweetgrass, Jewel Sweetgrass, Ryan Williams.

The family apologizes for anyone who may have been missed, as ma wasn’t here to help with the family tree.

A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to 10 guests at a time. A Private Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Rocky Brave Rock officiating. The service will be live streamed and may be accessed via Camillia’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
