Louise Huber

1925 – 2021

LOUISE HUBER (nee Doering) Louise passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2021 in Calgary, AB, at the age of 95 years.

She was born in Rosthern, Saskatchewan on March 18, 1925, Louise was raised in Rosthern and later moved to Duck Lake. She married her late husband, Fernie, in Rosthern on January 1, 1944. Together they had five children.

At a young age, Louise suffered a near fatal incident that resulted in her profound faith. She remained active in her church communities and volunteered in nursing homes until 2009. Louise moved to Calgary in 2011 to be closer to family and she continued to be active in her seniors’ residence while receiving long-term care.

An accomplished seamstress, Louise started her own business, Custom Design Draperies, after successfully completing college courses through Lethbridge Community College. For over twenty years she produced draperies for Lethbridge and District schools as well as private homes.

Louise always did her best to uplift people and encouraged them to find their strength. She led by example and, for those who truly knew her, she was a generous spirit with a great sense of humour and the loveliest smile.

Louise will be greatly missed and always remembered by her children Donna Connolly, Jannette (Al) Moen, Larry (Judy) Huber, Paulette Tremblay, Lorri Morice; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Besides her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Louise is survived by two sisters (Eva, Lillian) and one brother (Andy).

Louise was predeceased by her husband Fernie; son-in-law Don Connolly; six sisters and six brothers.

Louise’s family would like to sincerely thank the nursing staff at Brentwood Intercare in Calgary for their sensitive and compassionate care of their mother. Special thanks to Sonom, Crystal and Agnes, you are the heart of long-term care.

There will be no funeral in accordance with Louise’s wishes. In lieu of flowers and if you so choose, donations may be made to either Oral Roberts Ministries or 100 Huntley Street Ministries.
