CHRISTIE

She is predeceased by her parents, Jim & Alice Barrett, and sister Margaret Bigg.

She was the proud mother of Linda Christie, Doug (Karen) Christie and Brenda (Dave) Howe;

Grandmother of Jim (Laura) & Roy Scarrow, Kate (Ryan) Vogelaar, Riley Black, Sarah Christie, John (Monique) Howe & Christie Howe; Great Grandmother of Joey Scarrow, Ruby Rosas, Ava & Oliver Vogelaar, Payton, Madison & Parker Howe.

Jean will be dearly missed but shall remain forever in our hearts.

    Hello to all of you . I’m so sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. When going through all my old photos this winter so many fond memories came flooding back of all the good times I shared at the bowling alley and bowling tournaments with her and Hugh. She was a real gem of a friend and team mate. Find comfort in all your wonderful memories.

    We would like to express our sympathy to all of you in the passing of Jean. Even though we have not seen her in many years we still have memories of the special lady she was. Jean’s smile was especially warming. We hope as time passes that your sadness will lighten as you remember the wonderful times you shared.
    Sincerely

  5. Alan and Susan Pollock says:

    To Linda, Brenda and Doug and your families:

    Susan and I would like to let you know that we were very sorry to hear about Jean’s passing and we send our deepest condolences.

    I first met your mother when I tried to return a pair of shoes or runners to Eaton’s. I think I got my money back, but not until after I had been put through the third degree! Ironically, I ended up working with her in the shoe department of Eaton’s while I was in high school. Your dad would come faithfully every Thursday and Friday evening after the late shift to pick her up. Oh the good old days!

    Of course you have a ton of memories with your folks, but I will always remember the welcoming environment in your kitchen whenever we called in, and how proud she was of her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She bragged about you all every single time – and rightly so!

    She also seemed to recognize my voice on the phone (or maybe it was because she had caller ID), but it was much appreciated anyway. The last time we talked, I said I would pray for her healing. Well, that didn’t happen here obviously, but I do believe that, because of her faith that she unabashedly talked about in her Christmas cards and conversations, she is re-united with her loved ones in a much, much Better Place. We look forward to seeing her (and your father) again.

    All the very best to you and your family.

    Alan and Susan Pollock
