JEAN ROSELLIE SOROCHAN, beloved wife of the late John Sorochan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at St. Michael’s Health Centre, on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the age of 85 years.
She is survived by her son Glenn (Heather) of Lethbridge area and their children Christie of Cortes Island BC, Dr. Cayley (Dr. Mark Leger) of Montreal, Ryan of Lethbridge and Jamie of Vancouver; son Don (Dilene) of Lethbridge and their son David (Cassidy) of Lethbridge; son Dale of Lethbridge; daughter Myra and children Kara and Rory Valgardson of Lethbridge; son James of Lethbridge; daughter Jannette of Lethbridge and her children Stephanie Stoesz (Rudy) of Abbottsford, Anthony Schoen of Lethbridge; daughter-in-law Lisa Mitchell of Lethbridge; and great-grandchildren: Chamadaska, Quill, Emery, Phoenix and Henry. She is also survived by her siblings: Donald (Loreen) Gartly, Gerald (Delores) Gartley, Dale (Marlene) Gartly and Annabelle (Melvin) Derzaph as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her husband John, and her son Daniel.
Jean and John were married in Redcliff, AB in 1954. They raised their family mostly in Transcona area of Winnipeg, Manitoba, before moving to Lethbridge. Jean was a stay at home mom who loved reading. She enjoyed camping and led a very active life walking and going to the gym. Jean’s happiest times were spent with family. She enjoyed travelling back to Redcliff to visit her family and partake in the family reunion golf tournaments and BBQ’s in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.
The family is very appreciative of the excellent care afforded to Jean at St. Mike’s Health Care Centre.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Dr. Daniel Zopoula officiating. The service will be live streamed and may be accessed via Jean’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
