Suzy Egeland

1938 – 2021

Rosalie Ann Egeland passed away peacefully at St. Michaels Health Centre in Lethbridge on Friday March 26, 2021.

Suzy (as she was better known) was born January 27, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Peter and Theodora Peterson. She was welcomed home by 5 big brothers: Marty, Dick, Don, Bud and Ikey. At the age of 10, Suzy moved with her family to Seattle, Washington. At the tender age of 16, this big city girl moved to the prairies to marry the love of her life Olai, to which they were blessed to share 66 years. Together they raised their 4 children: Darlene (Harvey), Dean (Sandy), Ron (Carol) and Norma (Dennis) on the farm in Circle Hill. To this beautiful family was added 9 grandchildren: Daniel, Genese, Daryl, Kelly, Marissa, Chantal, Brett, Kaylee and Miranda, and 12 great-grandchildren. Suzy was predeceased by her parents Peter and Theodora Peterson, brothers: Marty, Dick, Don & Ikey, and by her son in law Bruce Lamond. Mom was the heart of our family and had a strong faith. Grandma loved Sunday dinners after church, special occasions, and any opportunity to get together with both family and friends. You could consider yourself someone special if you were ever on the receiving end of a loaf of fresh bread, buns, or the much sought-after cinnamon bread.

A private family service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. The family invites those who wish to watch the service via livestream at www.mbfunerals.com and scrolling to the bottom of Suzy’s obituary.

Mom had requested absolutely no flowers but instead buy a plant to enjoy in your own yard. If you so desire, memorial donations can be made to the Alberta Children’s Hospital, 28 Oki Drive, NW, Calgary, AB. T3B 6A8.
