CHABAY

July 21, 1982 – April 6, 2021

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of JACQUELINE (JACKIE) MICHELE CHABAY in Lethbridge, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the age of 38 years.

Jackie is survived by her three daughters – Jordynn, Taylor and Bailey; parents Bob and Bonny Chabay; sister Brianne (Chrystal) Chabay; nephews Jackson and Chace; former husband Dave Burgemeister; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Jackie was predeceased by her grandparents – Steve and Mary Chabay and Alexander and Anna Stanko; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. They will all now have a chance to renew acquaintances, free from pain and stress, and surrounded by peace and love.

Jackie was born in Lethbridge on July 21, 1982. She was raised and completed her schooling at Kate Andrews High School in Coaldale. After graduation, she lived in various places – Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, and most recently Raymond. Jackie was always highly organized and strived for perfection in her work, which greatly benefitted her jobs with UPS, Canadian Freightways and Canada Post. She also volunteered at the Chinook Regional Hospital.

Jackie’s proudest accomplishments were the births of her three daughters – Jordynn, Taylor and Bailey. Throughout her life and often difficult times, they were her love and priority. Even when they were apart, she always made sure to be involved in their health, education, and more importantly, letting them know how much she loved and cared for them. She always wanted what was best for her girls!

Jackie could be stubborn and persistent. She was a strong believer in “doing things her way”. She loved her cats, enjoyed bingo, and music (even though she was hard of hearing from birth), and most recently, “thrifting”.

Jackie had an extremely close relationship with her mother (Mama) who was always there for her through thick and thin. Their bond was everything a mother-daughter relationship should be and Mama now has a gaping hole in her heart and soul. Her regular FaceTime calls and texts will be greatly missed. Jackie was always able to overcome setbacks and start again. Her Dad always tried to keep her safe and made sure she made her way home, but this time it was just not meant to be. Jackie is now at peace and we are all so grateful for our time with her. We will remember the good times and love her forever and always.

As per Jackie’s wishes, there will be no services, but a private celebration of her life will be held for family and close friends at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home.

A donation in Jackie’s name can be made to a pet rescue agency of your choice.
