1930 – 2021

Mrs. Beverly Lorna Black (Hiscock), beloved wife of the late Mr. Sid Black, passed away peacefully at Coaldale Health Centre on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the age of 90 years.

Bev was born November 26, 1930 in Calgary, AB and raised at Hoping, AB. She married Sid Black in 1951 and they farmed at Hoping until retiring to Lethbridge in 2000. Bev was active in the community with 4-H, Hoping variety shows, Thistleridge & Foremost United Churches, Hoping Community Hall & Foremost Rink. Bev was also an avid baker and loved to garden and read.

She is survived by her daughter Sherry McNair (Richard); son Barry Black (Blanca); grandchildren Corey Turner (Angie), Amanda Bryce (Shaun), Holly McNair (Nick Feld), Cody McNair (Andrea); brother Harold Norlin (Bernie); and sisters in law Kate Black & Pat Hendricks. She also leaves behind nine great grandchildren: Ciara, Alannah, Makayla, Connor, Alora, Jake, Owen Rylan and Liam, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid restrictions, a private service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
