Linda Salomons

1946 – 2021

Mrs. Linda Salomons of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Larry Salomons, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the age of 75 years.

Linda was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan in 1946. She moved to Lethbridge seventeen years later where she ended up meeting Larry Salomons. They were married soon after and spent the next 50 years together. Linda was a hard-working gal. She helped out on the farm hoeing beets, even driving the three-ton beet trucks. She dedicated her life to raising their children, Lynette and Glenn. Once they began school, Linda started her own house cleaning business and worked until she was 64.

Linda made friends wherever she went. She was a ray of sunshine, always positive and glowing and making everyone around her feel good. “Linda lit up the room with her radiant smile when she walked into the church,” a friend had said. “She had a light in her so positive and bright,” said a relative.

Linda thoroughly enjoyed her 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Linda and Larry retired in Coleman. They loved the Crowsnest Pass; the people, community, river, and mountains. Linda always talked about ‘the Pass’. She moved back to Lethbridge to be closer to family a couple years after Larry passed.

Linda had great faith, she believed God answered prayers and didn’t give us more than we could handle. She was always adding someone to her prayer list.

The last 14 months Linda battled cancer but passed swiftly and peacefully at the end. She was ready to depart this world and be with Larry, on Father’s Day.

“Now may the Lord himself, who is our source of peace, give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Linda is survived by her daughter Lynette Hovde (Nick Paladino); son Glenn Salomons (Helen Saxby); grandchildren Carly Hovde, Jacob (Jill Severs), Lucas, Laura, Jonah, Julia Salomons; great grandchildren Onyxx & Xxena Hovde and Airiel Salomons; and sister Debbie Lamberton.

Besides her loving husband Larry Salomons, Linda was predeceased by her parents Frank Lamberton and Laura (Nona) Tyrer; sister Francis Koopmans and grandson Annon Hovde Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, July 2, 2021 at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 1614 5 AVENUE SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Dr. Bruce Martin, officiating.
