Jeffrey “Jeff” Wamsteeker

1990 – 2021

Jeffrey “Jeff” Wamsteeker of Lethbridge passed away surrounded by family at the Peter Lougheed Medical Centre in Calgary on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the age of 31 years.

Jeff was born on April 14, 1990, in Lethbridge, Alberta. Jeff lived in Alberta during most of his childhood. Later, he moved to West Branch, Iowa, where he spent most of his middle school and high school years. Following high school, he relocated back to Lethbridge, where he pursued his love of learning at the Lethbridge College and University of Lethbridge. His hard work and passion for computer science helped him earn scholarships for continued education in the field. In our family, he was the tech guru – always the person who could fix your computer problem, program your phone, and find the show you wanted to watch.

What Jeff enjoyed most was being with his family, spending time with his friends, and enjoying his favorite foods. He was a hunting, football, fishing, and music fanatic. During his time in Iowa, he developed a love for the Iowa Hawkeyes, always supporting the team, and watching every game.

For those who knew Jeff, even just a little, knew he was the kindest, most caring, giving, and empathetic person. Although he is no longer with us here, his light, laugh, and love will continue to be with us forever.

Jeff will be missed every day by his loving fiancée Tennille Ehnes; parents Peter and Charlotte Wamsteeker; sisters Becca Dyck and Kaitlyn Aird; brother in-laws Joey Dyck and Eric Aird; nephew Remington Dyck; niece Avery Dyck; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many friends. Each of these people he loved and touched very deeply. What now gives us joy is knowing he is no longer suffering and is together with his loving Grandma Ann and Oma and Opa Wamsteeker, who passed before him.

A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, July 5, 2021, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta. For those who are unable to attend the funeral, a livestream will be available at www.mbfunerals.com and scrolling to the bottom of his obituary.

Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, we ask for donations to be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association at https://cmha.ca/donate.
