(nee McKanna)

Aug. 27, 1925 – Sept. 1, 2021

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and great Grandmother Jean WELSH five days following her 96th Birthday. Mom was in the compassionate care of St. Therese Villa at the time of her passing with family at her side.

Mom spent her schooling years in Spring Coulee and Nobleford. She attended Garbutts Secretarial College in Calgary and went on to travel by train to Washington, D.C. to work for the British Consulate. She married Bob WELSH in 1944 and they farmed in Park Lake and So. Macleod area. Her later years were spent in Calg. and Lethbridge at Martha’s House and St. Therese. Mom’s excellent organizational, meticulous and independent skills remained thru out her life.

Mom was predeceased by her parents Cary (Mac) and Irene McKanna, her siblings Lucille Perry (William), and Robert McKanna (Millicent).

Mom is survived by her daughter Barbara Norlin (Trevor), 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and five great, great grandchildren, son Barry WELSH (Cindy), 2 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

With respect to the Covid regulations a private Family Memorial is planned. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Charity of your choice.
