KENLY

LAURETTA ALLRED KENLY, 89, passed away peacefully late Saturday evening, September 11, 2021 in the Cardston, Lee Crest assisted living facility. Lauretta is survived by her four children, Marvin (Reva), Terry (Sandy), Sheila (Sidney) Carothers and Debra (Rick) Orchard.

Mom was born December 29th, 1931 to Ernest and Lauretta Allred of Hillspring, Alberta. Lauretta was the last surviving member of their family, that included her siblings, Roy, Aaron, Jim, Virgil & Verda (twins), Stewart, Guy, Bhuel, Vance, Morris, Marion & Mary (twins). We know for certain that there’s a sweet reunion taking place right now on the other side of the veil.

For the past several years mom fought a hard battle with Alzheimer’s, which often took her mind far away, but she always managed to have a great disposition, a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face. Dad would always comment “I never hear her complain”. She was a modern-day pioneer.

Mom was a hard worker and served many in her family and community. Some of her favorite times were when her and dad owned Chinook Tours. They planned several trips over the years to places across Canada and the U.S. Dad drove the bus while mom hosted, often bringing games, movies, home baked cookies, and popcorn balls. No one ever went without. She and dad loved serving in the Cardston, AB Temple for 10 years. She loved her kids and made many sacrifices so she and dad could give us the best. Mom was a lady of integrity, love, compassion, and service. She loves the Lord, her four children, 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, more than words can adequately express. To mom, her family was the world! Our tight knit Kenly family has a special love and bond that will last an eternity – thanks for the amazing example mom and dad!

Marvin (Reva), Terry (Sandy), Sheila (Sid) and Debra (Rick) are grateful to those at Lee Crest who graciously and lovingly cared for our mom (and dad) over the past several years.

A Funeral service will be held in Cardston, AB, at the Legacy Funeral Home, Saturday, September 18th, at 11am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Alberta.
