Edison “Ed” Bardock

1931 – 2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edison “Ed” Bardock on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the age of 89 years.

Ed was born in Bellevue, Alberta on November 18, 1931. He worked in the Bellevue coal mine as a young man, but left to pursue an Education degree at U of A. He worked for B.C Forestry during the summers to pay for his education. In 1952 he began his first job as Vice Principal in Trochu, Alberta. He was hired over the phone and took the bus to Trochu the Sunday before he started work. He always said that when he arrived, he would have kept on going if he would have had a return ticket. Fortunately, he did not as he met his wife of 65 years in Trochu, where they were married and started a family. Ed continued his education, attaining a Doctorate in 1975. He worked in the Lethbridge Government Regional Office from 1971 until his retirement in 1987. He continued to be active in his retirement in 1987. He continued to be active in his retirement, involved in the local and Waterton churches. He also helped several NGO’s to access funding.

Ed is survived by his wife Doreen; daughter Jane Ann (Bill Peters) and her children Caleb and Taylor, daughter Colleen (Clark Bertagnolli) and her sons Trevor and Jordan; son Randy (Debbie) and their children Courtney and Cody.

A Family Service and Interment will take place in Trochu, and a Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
