Glen Dale Siggelkow – 1946-2021

GLEN DALE SIGGELKOW, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Johan passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021.

Glen was born in Estevan, SK, to parents John and Ruby Siggelkow as the eldest of 6 children and spent his early years on the farm with his family. In 1959, the family relocated to Burdett, AB, where Glen grew up and graduated in 1966. Glen met the love of his life while attending bible college at FGBI in Eston, SK. Glen and Johan married on Sept 21, 1968, and moved to Calgary, AB, where he took a job with Trans-Alta Utilities (Fortis), remaining there until his retirement in 2006.

Glen and Johan welcomed their first daughter, Kathryn, in 1971, and their second daughter Sharlyn in 1974. Shortly after her birth, the family settled in Lethbridge, where they welcomed their third daughter, Robyn, in 1975.

Glen had a love of the outdoors and adventure that was only eclipsed by his love for his family and for his Lord, Jesus Christ. His great joy was to serve those around him, whether in his various volunteer activities, serving in his local church, taking his family on an impromptu excursion, or just noticing when someone around him needed to feel included. Glen possessed a deep and abiding faith in God, and shared that faith through his actions, showing love and honor to all, exemplifying what it means to love others as Christ loved you.

Glen is survived by his wife of 53 years, Johan, his daughters, Kathryn, Sharlyn (Dan), and Robyn, and grandchildren Michaela (Tanner), and Coleton, siblings Gloria (Bob), Mervyn (Mavis), Clifford (Anne), Rhonda, and Timothy, along with numerous cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, and a large extended family.

A graveside service will be held at the Burdett Cemetery on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at 2pm. All are welcome. The Service will not be livestreamed, but a recording of the Service will be available for viewing via Glen’s obituary on the Cornerstone website within two business days.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Glen will be missed, but the memories that we have with him will forever remain.
