Donald Muirhead

1961 – 2021

Donald Muirhead of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Audrey, passed away suddenly on November 11, 2021 at the age of 60 years.

Born and raised in Scotland, Donald spent his early years in the small mining town of Kirkconnel before relocating to Dumfries. From an early age, Donald enjoyed playing soccer on the local teams where he made many lifelong friends and cherished memories. Upon leaving high school, Donald completed his apprenticeship and honed his skills as a fitter turner/machinist. In 1981, after a trip to visit his Great Uncle Archie Muirhead, Donald emigrated to Canada. Two years later he married Audrey in Scotland and together they returned to Lethbridge to begin their married life. Donald was a loving and dedicated husband and proud father to his lassies Laura, Leigh, and Jill. He encouraged and coached them throughout their education, sports, and lives.

Donald worked at a number of machine shops in Lethbridge before becoming a partner at C&A Industries. There he was able to realize his dream of building a machine shop and was an integral part in the ongoing development of the C&A Group. Donald loved his work and was a strong advocate of the trades.

The void Donald and Audrey experienced upon leaving Scotland was bridged with new friendships created through Donald’s time with the Lethbridge Labour Club Royals Soccer Team. The many fun tournament road trips and times spent together helped Donald and Audrey put down their roots in Canada.

Donald loved to play golf and was often seen at Paradise Canyon alongside his buddies of all ages. He placed great value and importance on the friendships and experiences he shared throughout his life. If you were to enjoy a pint or dram with Donald, retellings of these tales were

sure to be had.

Besides his loving wife Audrey, Donald is survived by his three daughters Laura, Leigh, and Jill; mother Nina Muirhead; brother Neil Muirhead (Joan); mother in law Jean Patterson; sister-in-law Hazel Patterson; as well as 5 nephews, a niece and their families.

Donald was predeceased by his father Donald Hall Muirhead, infant brother Stephen, father-in-law John Patterson, and brother-in-law Neil Patterson.

A private celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 22, 2021, with Reverend Trevor Potter officiating. Those who wish may watch the service via livestream by visiting Martin Brothers website www.mbfunerals.com and scrolling to the bottom of Donald’s obituary.
